I enjoyed my time at The Golden Lion in St Ives. The cleanliness throughout the hotel impressed me right away. My room, a Superior Double Room, had a lovely large bed and a clean, spacious bathroom. The complimentary toiletries were a delightful touch. The tea and coffee options were above average, especially the coffee bags. The staff stood out with their friendliness and helpfulness. They even left a note and some extra supplies outside my door when I was late getting out. Breakfast was a highlight, with excellent food every morning. I found noise disturbances troubling, especially in the early mornings when the market set up and from the street traffic. the sound insulation could have been better. I could hear the TV from the room below. These aspects made it a bit tough to relax at times. Still, I would return for the comfort and the great staff.

Had a great stay with friends! The location is perfect, walking to lovely cafes and a scenic river. We enjoyed a personal tour of the facilities and had a fab breakfast. The staff were super friendly and made our visit memorable.
One downside was the noise from events, which made it tough to relax and sleep occasionally.

The Classic Double Room was spacious and well-decorated. Really loved the comfy bed and the lovely view. The bathroom had nice toiletries but felt a bit chilly. Just a minor annoyance with the noise from the street and footsteps from above, but nothing too overwhelming.

The room was comfy and the bed was like a cloud. breakfast each morning was generous and tasty. I loved chilling on the sun terrace with a book and sipping a drink while soaking up a bit of sun. Just a heads up, the room got a little warm at times, but the staff swiftly sorted us out when we mentioned it. 😊

Cozy stay with great breakfast!
We spent 2 nights here and it was pretty chill. Our room was right next to the stairs, which was a big help since my wife uses a stick. The breakfast was delicious and staff were super friendly. One bummer was that it got a lil too warm at night. decent place!

Consider dining in the cozy bar lounge. it’s a hidden gem with delicious food and a great atmosphere.

Had a spectacular time at The Golden Lion! The drinks in the cozy bar lounge were a proper treat, and breakfast was spot on too. Plus, their location can’t be beaten—just a hop away from great local bites like The Taproom and Amore.
But blimey, the noise from the club next door was a serious nuisance on Saturday night. And with no air conditioning in a hot room, it was hard to catch Zach.
